The gilder takes incredibly thin leaves of precious metal and adorns a surface with them. In antiquity these leaves were made by a gold beater hammering sheets of metal, sucha as gold and silver, into extremely thin leaves.
The different shadow effects are created by the addition of alloys in the production process.
The gold and silver leaves are sold in different sizes.
The most comon size is 80x80cm, although we also offer different sizes in different carats.
Colors are available in 25-sheet booklets.
Today, modern beating is mostly done by machine which guarantees quality and product consistency.
All de other phases of the production process are done by hand by skilled and experienced workers.
