Vallejo, page 4 of 4
The Vallejo company was incorporated in the state of New Jersey, USA in the fall of 1965. In the early years it specialized in the manufacture of acrylic colors for cartoons. In 1969 the company moved to Barcelona and the exceptional formulation characteristics of its range of colors make them essential in the most important animation studios located in Europe.
In 1972 Amadeo Vallejo developed the Acrylic Artist’s Color range, one of the first acrylic colors for artists produced in Europe. A few months later, production of the Liquid Watercolor range, colors for design and illustration, began.
In 1981, following the request of several professors from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Barcelona, Vallejo developed the Acrylic Studio color range. The objective of this range of colors is to provide artists with a range of high-quality acrylic colors, with pigments selected based on their maximum permanence, at a single price and marketed in large formats. This palette for artists will become, decades later, a category of reference products for the industry.
